WHITLEY MANN FOCUSES HER PRACTICE ON COMPLEX CIVIL AND COMMERCIAL LITIGATION AND HAS EXPERIENCE REPRESENTING CLIENTS IN A WIDE RANGE OF INDUSTRIES.

Whitley has represented large public companies, non-profit organizations, and individuals in state and federal courts. She has experience with a wide range of business disputes and tort actions, such as: partnership disputes, accounting malpractice, white collar criminal defense, toxic torts, interference with contract, third-party subpoena defense, and breach of contract.

Prior to joining Martínez-Cid Law, Whitley was an associate at an AM Law 25 firm for several years. Whitley is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a John Boyles Duval Scholar and a Campbell Moot Court Quarterfinalist. At the University of Central Florida, Whitley was a Bright Futures Scholar, a recipient of Honors in the Major, and the president of the philosophical society.

REPRESENTATIONS

·     Investigated allegations of corruption in non-profit hospital’s construction contracting practices.

·   Investigated allegations of medical billing fraud, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursed claims, levied against a surgery center.

·     Assisted with trial preparation for multiple products liability cases against pesticide manufacturer.

·    Represented major accounting firm in a malpractice case brought by a former client involving compliance with the statutory auditing standards for insurance companies’ reinsurance programs.

·  Defended manufacturing company against allegations that mismanagement of certain chemicals led to wrongful death and other diseases in local population.

·  Defended sports organization against allegations that it failed to warn athletes of the risk that participating in sports could cause brain damage.

·  Defended telehealth company in suit involving allegations of tortious interference with prospective economic advantage of an independent contractor.

·  Represented various third-party surgery centers in their efforts to protect against invasive and overbroad discovery requests.
